The Fageant

We're sitting a block from city hall in San Francisco. Yes, that city hall that has been tagged in more photos online than your drunk girlfriend on Facebook this week. Next to me at Peet's is a foursome who have recently gone two by two up the steps and back, the men in shorts and the women in pants. They seem very happy, and old enough to still have earrings in the right lobe only. Yesterday were many of these in dresses and pants sitting homosexually in restaurants on these blocks celebrating. A photography company actually set up on the handicap ramp in at city hall with a laptop and a camera to snap photos and email to the unified.

This place

In San Francisco there are plenty of places not to go The bumper
sticker on this limo lounger says enough for the one side and the
amazingly diverse scribblings on the cardboard "spare change" signage
in the panhandle industry says some for the other. There may indeed be
a Magic The Gathering-esque secondary market for such equipment.
Craigslist postings in the used professional equipment section for
"11"x17" blue on light brown with some tears, folds neatly, Spanish
translation available: helpless and hungry god bless.

I think what we're seeing here

I forget if we discussed the coffee stand in Anchorage, AK owned by a
hot girl and her husband featuring her hot sister as one of two
employees. Also, their mom worked there and was very nice. Comes to
pass now that there is a genuine Hot Chick-a-Latte stand in Tacoma,
WA, and through some clever image searching I found <a href="http://www.flickr.com/pho

tos/thedamnmushroom/tags/coffeewars">this</a> flickr page that
catalogs the apparent feud between the bikini wearing coffee girls and
the other stands in the area. Follow the link in the comments to a
local paper's op-ed and blogging about the uproar. Fond memories of
the snowy parking lot in AK notwithstanding, we prefer the Tacoma
version if only because it is more convenient to civilization.

As an aside, what must have been said this morning between our most
and least favorite Presidential candidates as they appeared in Tandem
at the Israel lobby in DC? First of all, WTF were they both doing
there on the same day anyway? Are the lobbyists so busy that they
can't hear one today and one tomorrow? Awkward.
